Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR

Sample project board from Elaine Thompson Elementary SchoolBuilding owners and architects are eligible to earn the EPA recognition for commercial new construction design projects. Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR is awarded to eligible projects that are in the design or construction phase and achieve an ENERGY STAR design score of 80 or higher.

Once awarded, architects and building owners can use the Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR mark on design plans and promotional materials, like the one on this page.
