Residential New Construction Program Requirements

To earn ENERGY STAR certification, a new home or apartment must meet strict energy efficiency requirements established by EPA’s ENERGY STAR Residential New Construction program.

Working with ENERGY STAR

Builders, Developers, Energy Rating Companies, Utilities, and other Energy Efficiency Program Sponsors can partner with ENERGY STAR. Organizations such as real estate professionals and HVAC contractors can work with ENERGY STAR in other ways.
