Home Energy Rebate Programs
State, territorial and Tribal entities are gearing up to offer Home Energy Rebate programs with funding from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (Public Law 117-169). If you’re involved in that process, you’re likely aware that ENERGY STAR-certification is a requirement where applicable for the Home Electrification and Appliances Rebate (HEAR) Program and for heating, cooling, and water heating for the Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) Program.(Source: DOE)
That’s a good thing, since ENERGY STAR is widely recognized and trusted by consumers. Our marketing approach is backed by decades of experience working with partners to identify and overcome barriers limiting widespread adoption of energy efficient options.
While the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is charged with oversight and guidance for the rebate programs, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plays an important role by:
- Maintaining the integrity of the ENERGY STAR program and overseeing the appropriate use of the ENERGY STAR name and marks.
- Extending the benefits of our voluntary partnership to state, territorial and Tribal entities charged with implementing these rebate programs.
