While ENERGY STAR certification for new construction multifamily buildings was previously allowed through the Certified Homes and MFHR programs, the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction (MFNC) program is now required for any multifamily building with building permits on or after July 1, 2021.
This interactive U.S. map allows you to drill down to individual states to understand the market for site-built, single-family and multifamily ENERGY STAR certified homes and apartments compared to all housing completions as reported by the U.S. Census.

Partners may use the ENERGY STAR marks to promote their support of the ENERGY STAR program, ENERGY STAR certified homes, and their partnership with ENERGY STAR. All marks must be used in compliance with the ENERGY STAR Brand Book and are only available for download via partners' My ENERGY STAR Account (MESA).
