The interactive map and tables below provide a state-level breakdown of the market share for ENERGY STAR certified new homes. The map compares the number of site-built, single-family ENERGY STAR certified new homes to the number of new, privately-owned, one unit homes permitted in each state and the District of Columbia, adjusted for housing completions. Each state’s market share is a measurement of ENERGY STAR’s presence in the site-built, single-family new homes market for that state and does not measure any other energy efficiency efforts within the state. Nearly one in ten site-built, single-family homes built in 2018 earned the ENERGY STAR.
