Welltower Inc. is a real estate investment trust. Welltower demonstrated continued leadership in setting and exceeding energy efficiency and environmental goals by implementing best practices based on ENERGY STAR® tools and resources. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Certifying 135 properties as ENERGY STAR, tripling the number of new certifications and doubling the number of recertifications.
  • Completing energy efficiency upgrades across 20 properties, including LED lighting upgrades and optimization of operational controls, saving an estimated 2.3 million kWh of electricity and 2,000 MMBtu of natural gas.
  • Participating in a 2023 energy and water survey to update the ENERGY STAR 1–100 score for multifamily properties.
  • Increasing the number of properties powered with on-site solar energy to 25.
  • Achieving a 10% greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal 3 years ahead of schedule and resetting it to be nearly three times as large by 2030.
