Southern Energy Management, a home energy rating company, continued its commitment to ENERGY STAR® in 2023 by certifying more than 2,300 homes and maintaining its support for multiple production builder partners. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Recruiting 11 new home builders into the ENERGY STAR program, delivering hundreds of new ENERGY STAR certified home and apartments.
  • Creating new technical training and educational videos focusing on ENERGY STAR program requirements for air sealing, insulation, and HVAC grading, as well as the Section 45L federal tax credit for energy-efficient new homes, and hosting 12 ENERGY STAR field training sessions with participating builders and trades, including a first-ever bilingual training session with local insulation trade partners.
  • Monitoring timeliness and completeness of ENERGY STAR checklists and other supporting documents via an automated tracking system.
  • Updating its on-demand High Performance Homes Resource Hub with curated ENERGY STAR materials that builders can download and use to create resources at their convenience.
  • Providing educational support and technical resources on ENERGY STAR and the value of energy efficiency for students in high school, trade schools, and universities.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
