Pando Alliance, a home energy rating company, certified more than 1,200 dwelling units as ENERGY STAR® in 2023, for a total of over 6,000 since 2011. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Promoting ENERGY STAR across its website, social media, technical handouts, and presentations.
  • Educating project teams about the Inflation Reduction Act provisions for multifamily properties, focusing on the Section 45L federal tax credit for energy-efficient new homes.
  • Providing extensive training for all new staff on field testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and documentation requirements to establish performance expectations for ENERGY STAR.
  • Providing enhanced support to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers new to the ENERGY STAR program, outlining the intent of the program’s design protocols and requirements.
  • Developing operations and maintenance manuals for multifamily property owners to provide detailed specifications, operating instructions, and maintenance recommendations for ENERGY STAR certified buildings.
  • Providing technical support to architectural firms, general contractors, and project teams, and delivering hands-on training and assistance throughout the design and construction process to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions for achieving ENERGY STAR certification.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
