Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) is a nonprofit organization. IMT expanded its engagement with the ENERGY STAR® program and its support for improving building performance. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Creating a model state law to expand access to utility data in partnership with the Regulatory Assistance Project and engaging the ENERGY STAR program for technical input.
  • Providing access to a forthcoming database of building performance policies, allowing ENERGY STAR to provide the information at no cost to building owners and other stakeholders.
  • Expanding support to building owners subject to building performance standard laws through the Washington, DC Building Innovation Hub and in coordination with other hubs through IMT’s Building Performance Partnership.
  • Increasing participation in the Green Lease Leaders program, which aligns with ENERGY STAR Tenant Space recognition and promotes ENERGY STAR.
