Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, an affordable homebuilder and volunteer organization, has constructed more than 330 ENERGY STAR® certified homes since joining the program in 2012. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Making home ownership more affordable for underserved families by building homes that earn EPA’s ENERGY STAR certification.
  • Promoting ENERGY STAR on its website, social media channels, and on-site signage, as well as at home dedication ceremonies that are live-streamed and televised by local news media and attended by public officials, board members, sponsors, donors, volunteers, neighbors, and family members.
  • Reviewing ENERGY STAR features with all new homeowners to ensure that they understand how to maximize energy efficiency when living in the home.
  • Starting to build new homes that include renewable solar technologies and electric vehicle charging capability.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
