Grede is a manufacturer of ductile, gray and specialty iron castings. The company built a comprehensive industrial energy program by using ENERGY STAR® energy management guidance. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Reaching a 5% reduction in energy intensity over 2022.
  • Benchmarking with ENERGY STAR industrial partners to compare energy management practices and share successes.
  • Creating several corporate recognition programs that reward plants and employees for energy excellence.
  • Communicating the company’s energy management principles and program from the top of the organization, sharing its energy management journey with ENERGY STAR on social media, and participating in ENERGY STAR Day by presenting a special CEO video to the public and employees.
  • Achieving the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry at six of its nine sites that have taken the Challenge.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
