Dominion Energy is an electric and natural gas utility serving territories in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The Residential Efficient Products Marketplace Program in North Carolina and Virginia successfully implemented a retail program, an online marketplace, and a media outreach campaign that resulted in over 18,000 residential customer rebates on ENERGY STAR certified appliances, saving almost three million gross kWh. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Deploying a digital ad campaign that ran 52 weeks of the year to more than 2.7 million customers across the Virginia and North Carolina territories and generated more than 3.9 million impressions and more than 52,000 clicks.
  • Aligning appliance promotional emails with the 2023 ENERGY STAR promotional calendar, reaching approximately 5,000 customers, who opt into these emails, per week.
  • Increasing the visibility and sales of ENERGY STAR certified appliances by engaging more than 300 big box retailers and local, independently owned retail stores, with quarterly end-cap promotions at Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Costco, Walmart, and Target, all resulting in more than 3,000 store visits in 2023.
  • Partnering with 100 retail stores in underserved areas in the Dominion Energy Virginia/North Carolina service territory, improving accessibility to efficient smaller appliances with the incentives provided by the Marketplace Program.
  • Exceeding its 2023 goal of 14,067,816 lighting and appliance units sold by 1,073,145 units.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
