Design Tech Homes, a regional home builder, has constructed more than 1,840 ENERGY STAR® certified homes since joining the program in 2001. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Promoting ENERGY STAR on all electronic and print marketing materials, including on its website, social media channels, sales brochures, in-home sales displays, and post-sale signage.
  • Educating sales teams about ENERGY STAR features and benefits during weekly meetings and providing a suite of promotional tools featuring ENERGY STAR, including brochures, in-home displays, feature sheets, and yard signage.
  • Conducting a 2-hour seminar attended by more than 120 homebuyers each month, during which the CEO presents the features and benefits of ENERGY STAR certified homes and the value of being an ENERGY STAR partner.
  • Reinforcing the value of purchasing an ENERGY STAR certified home post-sale by administering a survey to every buyer asking how energy efficiency influenced their decision, and sending a congratulatory letter from the company owners to every buyer who includes the home’s ENERGY STAR certificate.
  • Providing regular training for construction staff on meeting ENERGY STAR program requirements, employing online technical videos and comprehensive construction documents.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
