Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Step-by-Step
A utility, non-profit, or other organization becomes a local program "Sponsor"
Sponsors recruit and train home improvement contractors in local area
Sponsors and contractors work together to promote the home performance approach
Contractors meet with homeowners to conduct whole home assessments
Contractors provide homeowners with a prioritized list of recommended improvements
Contractors complete improvements
Improvements are evaluated by the Sponsor to ensure proper application and installation
Homeowners begin to experience greater comfort in their homes as well as lower utility bills
