Set-top Box Specification Version 4.1

The Version 4.1 ENERGY STAR specification for Set-top Boxes is currently under review. Materials related to this process are provided below. Stakeholders who received past communications related to the development of Version 3.0 and 4.0 will continue to receive updates on this review effort. External Power Supply Requirement Update — October 31, 2014

EPA has updated relevant ENERGY STAR electronics product specifications to reflect that the Single- and Multiple-voltage EPSs shall meet the Level V or higher performance requirements under the International Efficiency Marking Protocol.  This update does not affect currently certified products but rather allows products with a level VI EPS to be certified as ENERGY STAR.

Final Version 4.1 STB Program Requirements - April 4, 2014

EPA released the Final Draft of the Version 4.1 Specification for Set-top Boxes on January 23. The draft and associated documents can be accessed through the links below. Version 4.1 Set-top Box Proposal Memo – August 29, 2013

The memo linked below presents the core changes EPA expects to include in the forthcoming Final Draft Version 4.1 ENERGY STAR Set-top Box Specification. Stakeholders are invited to join a call on Monday, September 16th, from 12 PM to 2 PM Eastern Time to discuss these proposals. EPA is also releasing Draft Version 4.1 STB Manufacturer Partner Commitments for stakeholder review.
