Set-top Box Specification Versions 1.0 and 2.0

The Version 2.0 ENERGY STAR Program Requirements for Set-top Boxes and Version 1.0 Partnership Requirements for Service Providers were finalized on April 23, 2008. July 4–6, 2007

The International Energy Agency in Paris, France will host an International Workshop on Energy Efficient Set-Top Boxes & Digital Networks  (PDF, 51KB) during July 4–6, 2007. Stakeholders are encouraged to take this opportunity to discuss technical and policy options to improve the efficiency of set-top box technologies.

Suspending the Version 1.0 ENERGY STAR Set-top Box Specification

The Version 1.0 ENERGY STAR specification for set-top boxes has been suspended. Materials leading to the suspension are posted below. Partners and other interested parties who have questions or comments about these materials are encouraged to contact Katharine Kaplan, EPA, at kaplan.katharine@epa.gov. EPA reopened the specification revision process on March 15, 2007 and materials related to that effort may be found in the active Product Development Web pages.
