External Power Supply Requirement Update — October 31, 2014

EPA has updated relevant ENERGY STAR electronics product specifications to reflect that the Single- and Multiple-voltage EPSs shall meet the Level V or higher performance requirements under the International Efficiency Marking Protocol. This update does not affect currently certified products but rather allows products with a level VI EPS to be certified as ENERGY STAR.

ITI-JEITA-JBMIA-EPA Follow-up Teleconference - October 15, 2014

On October 15, 2014, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), Japan Business Machine Industry Association (JBMIA) held a follow-up teleconference to discuss progress on the integrity of the ENERGY STAR imaging equipment qualified product database and recent developments. ITI-JEITA-JBMIA-EPA Workshop on Improving Data for Imaging Equipment - July 9, 2014

On July 9, 2014 the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), Japan Business Machine Industry Association (JBMIA), and ENERGY STAR® Certification Bodies Keystone Certifications and Met Labs held a workshop to work collaboratively on methods for ensuring the integrity of the ENERGY STAR imaging equipment qualified product database. Ease of use by various stakeholders, particularly customers was also a priority. Presentations and notes from the workshop are available for download below.

Final Version 2.0 Program Requirement Clarifications - June 26, 2013

Based on stakeholder questions, EPA and DOE have made several updates to both the specification and the test method to clarify the intended requirements. The clarified program requirements are linked below. None of these clarifications will have an impact on previously certified products.

Final Version 2.0 Specification - April 1, 2013

EPA released the Final Version 2.0 ENERGY STAR Program Requirements for Imaging Equipment on April 1. Manufacturers may elect to have their Certification Body (CB) certify their eligible products to the Version 2.0 requirements from now on. Webinar to Discuss Modifications to Imaging Equipment Specification - February 22, 2013

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hosted a stakeholder webinar to present details on additional modifications to the Version 2.0 ENERGY STAR specification for Imaging Equipment. These modifications were discussed in a letter to stakeholders distributed on February 15 and concerned Digital Front Ends (DFEs) and an adder for A3-capable TEC products.

Proposed Modifications to the Version 2.0 Specification for Imaging Equipment - February 15, 2013

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a letter with additional proposed changes to the Version 2.0 specification based on comments on the Final Draft. Prior to finalizing the specification, EPA is seeking stakeholder input on these changes and has scheduled a webinar on February 22, 2013, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm Eastern Time.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released the Draft 2 Version 2.0 ENERGY STAR Specification for Imaging Equipment on June 29. The draft and associated documents can be accessed through the links below. Stakeholders are invited to review these documents and submit comments to EPA via email to imagingequipment@energystar.gov by Monday, July 30, 2012.

EPA will host a webinar on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 11 AM Eastern Time. EPA will present details of the revisions made in the Draft 2 specification and the data analysis performed to date, as well as address stakeholder questions and concerns regarding the proposed changes. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) have revised the Draft 2 test method as part of the ENERGY STAR imaging equipment specification revision and seek your additional comments on Draft Final. The development of this draft final test method was a joint effort between EPA and DOE conducted in response to comments received during and after the distribution of the draft test method on November 9, 2011 and an online meeting on December 8, 2011. Please send all comments and supporting information to imagingequipment@energystar.gov by Monday, March 26, 2012.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) have developed a revised test method. EPA welcomes written comment from stakeholders on the modifications to the Draft 1 test method and the proposed approach to functional adders. To aid the process of setting specification levels, EPA also welcomes information on any non-ENERGY STAR qualified models from imaging equipment partners. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the European Commission are pleased to announce the revision of the ENERGY STAR Imaging Equipment product specification. Attached for your review and comment are a cover memo and discussion documents. EPA welcomes written comment on the issues presented in the discussion documents through Friday, April 1, 2011. Please send all comments and supporting information to imagingequipment@energystar.gov.

To assist EPA in determining ENERGY STAR performance levels, manufacturers are invited to submit product information on non-qualified imaging equipment models using the data template attached with this letter. If you wish to submit non-qualified product performance data, please send completed data forms to imagingequipment@energystar.gov by Friday, April 1, 2011.
