Distribution Transformers Version 1.0 Specification
The ENERGY STAR specification for distribution transformers is under development. Materials related to the specification development process are provided below. Please e-mail DistributionTransformers@energystar.gov with questions or concerns regarding these materials or the revision process and requests to be added to the e-mail distribution list.
The Draft 2 data analysis and a corresponding memo will be posted by August 26th.
Distribution Transformers Draft 2 Specification Analysis (EXCEL, 22.4MB)
Stakeholders are encouraged to submit any data and feedback to EPA on the Draft 2 ENERGY STAR Specification for Distribution Transformers to DistributionTransformers@energystar.gov no later than Tuesday, August 16, 2016. EPA will host a webinar on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern time to discuss the Draft 2 specification.
Stakeholders are encouraged to submit any data and feedback to EPA on the Draft 1 ENERGY STAR Specification for Distribution Transformers to DistributionTransformers@energystar.gov no later than Wednesday, September 16, 2015. EPA will host an in-person meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 10am to 4:30pm Eastern time to discuss the Draft 1 specification. Please RSVP to DistributionTransformers@energystar.gov by Monday, Thursday, August 6th to confirm if you are able to attend.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is pleased to announce the launch of a process to develop an ENERGY STAR specification for medium voltage liquid-immersed distribution transformers. The launch letter and framework document provide background on the ENERGY STAR program, explains EPA’s interest in distribution transformers and current thinking regarding this product category, and outlines EPA’s goals and next steps for this specification development.
Stakeholders are encouraged to submit comments to EPA on the issues identified and proposals outlined in the framework document as well as any other issues associated with the development of an ENERGY STAR specification for distribution transformers no later than January 28, 2015. Additionally, EPA will host a launch webinar on January 14, 2014 to discuss the issues identified in this framework and encourage feedback from stakeholders to inform a proposed path forward.
