The image linked here shall be used when testing Notebooks and Integrated Desktops according to the Version 6.0 Test Method. Per Draft 3 of the Test Method, “It may be set as the “desktop background” (wallpaper) or shown via an image display application. The image shall be scaled to completely fill the display area.”
In Draft 3, EPA included two separate category systems: the one for Desktops was based on the Ecma category system while the other, for Notebooks, was based on an ITI proposal submitted to EPA in early 2011.
During the December webinar for Draft 3 some stakeholders expressed an interest adopting the alternative category proposal submitted by ITI for Desktops as well. This would create a single, consistent category system for both Notebook and Desktop products. The ITI category proposal for Desktops and appropriate TEC levels are presented below, as are the Ecma equivalents from Draft 3 for comparison.
Draft 3 ENERGY STAR Version 6.0 Computer specification and test method are posted below along with related files. Stakeholders are encouraged to review these documents and provide written feedback via email to computers@energystar.gov by January 9, 2013.
Draft 2 of the ENERGY STAR Version 6.0 Computer specification is posted below along with related files. Stakeholders are encouraged to review these documents and provide written feedback via email to computers@energystar.gov by June 8, 2012.
