Room Air Cleaner Specification Version 1.2

EPA has finalized the ENERGY STAR room air cleaner specification, and the comment period is now closed. The ENERGY STAR Version 1.0 room air cleaner specification took effect on July 1, 2004. Manufacturers interested in joining ENERGY STAR should visit the Manufacturers and Retailers Resources page. Partners and other interested parties with questions about the specification can contact Abigail Daken, EPA, at daken.abigail@epa.gov.

Meeting between ENERGY STAR and Air Cleaner Industry at the International Housewares Show in Chicago, IL, January 14, 2003

At the request of the Association for Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and other members of the air cleaner industry, EPA hosted a meeting to discuss and evaluate the potential for an ENERGY STAR specification for room air cleaners. This meeting was held in conjunction with the International Housewares Show in Chicago, IL where many of the air cleaner manufacturers were displaying their products. Representatives from air cleaner manufacturers, AHAM, and ENERGY STAR attended the meeting. Below are all of the documents pertaining to the meeting:
