As of August 15, 2018, Certification Bodies (CBs) may no longer certify any new products to Version 1.1.
Version 2.0 is effective January 1, 2019; note: as of December 22, 2017, brand owners may elect to have their CB certify all eligible products to the Version 2.0 requirements.
Applying for the ENERGY STAR
If your product meets our criteria, then apply for an ENERGY STAR label.
To qualify a new product, contact an EPA-recognized Certification Body (CB) to have the product's performance certified. A list of EPA-recognized CBs, as well as an overview of EPA's third-party certification procedures, is available at www.energystar.gov/3rdpartycert.
