As of January 15, 2017, CBs will no longer certify new products with cooling capacities <65,000 Btu/h to Version 2.2. As of June 1, 2017, CBs will no longer certify any new products to Version 2.2.

Version 3.0 is effective January 1, 2018; note: as of December 21, 2016, manufacturers may elect to have their Certification Body (CB) certify their eligible products to the Version 3.0 requirements, except for those products for which COP47 is TBD.

Applying for the ENERGY STAR
If your product meets our criteria, then apply for an ENERGY STAR label.
To qualify a new product, contact an EPA-recognized Certification Body (CB) to have the product's performance certified. A list of EPA-recognized CBs, as well as an overview of EPA's third-party certification procedures, is available at www.energystar.gov/3rdpartycert.
