Central Air Conditioners Sunset Proposal

EPA had proposed sunsetting the ENERGY STAR specifications for residential gas furnaces and central air conditioners. EPA is now proposing to revise, rather than sunset, the furnaces specification. Materials related to this revision can be found on the Furnaces Specification Version 5.0 page. EPA plans to still move forward with the sunset of central air conditioners. Materials related to this sunsetting process are provided below. Partners and the general public with questions or concerns regarding these materials or the sunsetting process can contact HVAC@energystar.gov.
