Version 5.0 Program Requirements for Set-top Boxes (The Version 5.0 ENERGY STAR Set-top Box specification shall take effect on January 1, 2017 for all products with the exception of Thin Clients. Thin Clients must meet these requirements on January 1, 2018.)

Applying for the ENERGY STAR
If your product meets our criteria, then apply for an ENERGY STAR label.
To certify a new product, contact an EPA-recognized Certification Body (CB) to have the product's performance certified. A list of EPA-recognized CBs, as well as an overview of EPA's third-party certification procedures, is available at www.energystar.gov/3rdpartycert.
