Heat pumps that earn the ENERGY STAR are energy-efficient, keeping your home comfortably cool and warm, while saving money on your energy bills and reducing your impact on the climate.
Heat Pumps provide both heating and cooling. Ducted heat pumps provide conditioned air delivered to living spaces through a system of ducts and registers. Ductless heat pumps, or mini/multi split heat pumps, do not rely on duct work. Instead, a head unit, or multiple head units, are installed inside, with an accompanying unit outside. Heat pumps have an exterior unit that extracts heat from the outside air, even when it’s cold out, which is then carried by refrigerant to an interior unit for distribution throughout the home. The systems work in reverse to provide air conditioning in summer.
