EPA will provide the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2023 designation and usage guidelines to ENERGY STAR partners with recognized products prior to January 2023 and upon request.

Windows, Sliding Glass Doors, and Skylights

Since the Most Efficient residential window and sliding glass door (SGD) criteria did not change for 2023, Partners with currently recognized products do not need to take any steps to earn 2023 recognition unless they wish to revise the products currently recognized.

For the addition of new products to the list, partners must apply for recognition in order for EPA to verify that product lines meet the recognition criteria. Windows, SGD, and Skylight partners interested in receiving recognition in 2023 are asked to take the following steps:

  1. Ensure you are an ENERGY STAR product manufacturer partner in good standing. Check your status by searching for your company in the ENERGY STAR Partner Directory.
  2. Confirm that your product lines are listed in the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) Certified Products Directory (CPD) and meet the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2023 recognition criteria (PDF, 98KB).
  3. Confirm that selected product lines are currently available for sale and can be ordered.
  4. Download the Most Efficient Windows Application ME2023_Windows_Application  (EXCEL, 54 KB) or Most Efficient Skylights Application ME2023_Skylights_Application (Excel, 53 KB)
and complete the Contact Information and Product Line worksheets according to the instructions.
