Description: Hosted by the Minnesota and Midwest efficiency programs, the 2007 Appliance Partner Meeting focused on current ENERGY STAR strategies, plans, and promotions for 2008 as well as updates from U.S. DOE on current efforts and future directions for the program.

The purpose of the Marketing Summits is to create a forum in which the host manufacturer or retailer can present its ENERGY STAR plans for 2007-2008 to the Energy Efficiency Program Sponsors (EEPS). Specifically, manufacturers and retailers will focus their presentations on collaboration opportunities for new products and manufacturer promotions.

PLENARY SESSION 2: APPLIANCE RECYCLING

The U.S. Department of Energy will host a panel discussion dedicated to developing effective appliance recycling initiatives. DOE's presentation will include an overview of its 2008 ENERGY STAR Appliance Campaign, which will discuss opportunities for partner participation. Other presenters will discuss successful campaigns and opportunities for future successes.

Manufacturers and retailers host the breakout sessions with EEPS rotating in regional groups between breakout meeting rooms.

The purpose of the breakout sessions is to build on the Marketing Summit from the previous day by allowing each EEPS region and the manufacturer to meet one-on-one. This format provides a dedicated time in which the manufacturer and the EEPS partner can discuss opportunities for collaboration in a more targeted manner.
