Description:  Hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, the 2004 HVAC Meeting focused on future program direction for heating and cooling equipment. Key discussion topics included the ENERGY STAR specification in relation to the 2006 federal standard, and near- and medium-term options for addressing quality installation practices. 11:30 - 12:00 PM	Overview of ENERGY STAR Central Air-Conditioner and Air-Source Heat pump Specification Revision
	The new federal standard for central air-conditioners and air-source heat pumps will take effect in January 2006. EPA is considering potential changes to the ENERGY STAR specification for these products, and is evaluating new equipment requirements as well as quality installation components. This session will introduce the options being considered by EPA, outline the expected schedule, and identify opportunities for partner input. 	EPA is investigating opportunities to update the efficiency specifications for CAC and ASHP, possibly addressing SEER, EER, HSPF, and/or other equipment requirements.
