APPLIANCE CRITERIA UPDATE AND ENERGY STAR APPLIANCE PROMOTION OVERVIEW

This session will include an overview of upcoming changes to the ENERGY STAR qualified appliance criteria by the U.S. Department of Energy and an ENERGY STAR dehumidifier market overview by the U.S. Environmental Agency (U.S. EPA). This will be followed by a comprehensive review of the 2004 ENERGY STAR Appliance Promotion and an outline of the 2005 campaign.

APPLIANCE RECYCLING

ENERGY STAR appliance stakeholders will provide information on current appliance recycling issues and provide an overview of the activities conducted by the Appliance Recycling Working Group around Earth Day and the Appliance Promotion. This overview will include details of how partners came together to achieve common goals, identify the lessons learned from these activities, and discuss how these lessons can be applied to future programs. The Working Group will also provide an outline of future opportunities and information regarding plans for 2005.
