EPA-Recognized Credentials for HVAC Contractors

For homes certified through the Single-Family New Homes program under Track B – HVAC Credential, the HVAC contractor must hold an EPA-recognized credential prior to assessing systems. Contractors with this credential are also eligible to assess certain systems in the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction program.

Credentials are offered by HVAC Quality Installation Training and Oversight Organizations (H-QUITOs), independent, third-party oversight organizations whose programs have been recognized by the EPA.
