The ENERGY STAR Market Leader Awards (MLAs) recognize builders, developers, and energy rating companies that have built or verified at least 50 ENERGY STAR certified homes in the prior year, as well as utilities and other sponsors implementing energy-efficiency programs based on ENERGY STAR program requirements. For builder and developer partners to be eligible for the MLAs, they must also have committed to building 100% of their homes to the ENERGY STAR certification (see below). There is no award application; eligible partners are automatically recognized. View a list of current recipients.

Partner Locator

The Partner Locator provides a complete listing, searchable by state and city, of all ENERGY STAR partners who are building, verifying, and sponsoring certified homes and apartments.

To be included, partners must meet all terms and commitments of their Partnership Agreement and certify at least one new home or apartment as ENERGY STAR within 12 months of becoming a new partner and in every 12-month period thereafter.

Partners may also link the Partner Locator to their websites after meeting the EPA’s eligibility requirements.

Builder 100% Commitment Option

ENERGY STAR Commitment to Build Logo

Builders and developers can earn special recognition by committing to certify 100% of their homes and apartments as ENERGY STAR. Partners making this pledge have access to a special program graphic and are identified with a special 100% icon (ENERGY STAR 100% Commitment icon) and a priority listing on the ENERGY STAR Partner Locator. Partners can make this commitment through their My ENERGY STAR Account (MESA).
