Key Selling Points and Ways to Engage the CFS Industry

Midstream programs can benefit all stakeholders in the CFS supply chain:

Manufacturers

  • Increase market share of higher margin energy-efficient products.
  • Focus energy efficiency outreach efforts (dealer/distributor relationships, manufacturer discounts, etc.) in service territories where midstream programs exist.

Utilities/Energy Efficiency Program Sponsors (EEPS)

  • Transform market by influencing stock of efficient equipment available in dealer/distributor inventory.
  • Facilitate the availability of efficient equipment, which can be installed during “emergency replacement” scenarios that heavily favored conventional units in the past.
  • Focus limited funds on a smaller audience – suppliers in their service territory – to reach more operators and end-users, leading to higher energy savings at lower program costs.
  • Realize improved program delivery through eliminating rebate breakage, reducing market confusion, and improving customer, dealer, distributor, and manufacturing representative understanding.

Dealers and Distributors

  • Make more profit per unit sold with energy-efficient equipment.
  • Earn a competitive advantage by becoming experts in energy efficient equipment and incentive processing as midstream incentive structures spread to other programs across the country.
  • Earn additional financial incentive through bonuses.

Food Service Operators

  • Expand purchases beyond emergency replacement.
  • Save money upfront and avoid the burden of downstream rebates (e.g., evaluating energy savings, determining eligibility, filling out paperwork, and waiting for an incentive check).
