Finding Success as a Contractor

Proper training and installation are crucial for optimizing heat pump performance for your customers. We can help set you on the right path to success and share success stories from your peers.

Proper Training Is Crucial

We recommend two pathways:

1. Attend a manufacturer training
Work with your brand representative to receive their brand-specific equipment training.

2. Energy Skilled Program
Another great approach to grasp best practices and gain insights from others is by checking out the professional trainings found here through the DOE.

Proper installation of heat pumps is crucial to prevent callbacks

Understanding and following requirements that are specific to heat pumps is essential to achieve optimal performance. Licensed professionals must strictly adhere to manufacturer specifications, installation instructions, and regulations. This includes guidelines for line setting, refrigerant tubing, condensate management, and unit placement. Each aspect, from wiring to ducting and system setup, requires precise execution.

Following the correct procedures can help reduce customer issues and callbacks. By ensuring compliance with installation standards, technicians can enhance the reliability and longevity of air-source heat pump systems. Proper installation not only improves efficiency but also contributes to customer satisfaction. And effective communication of these installation requirements to homeowners can also foster better understanding and cooperation throughout the installation process.

Versatile heat pump configurations

Air source heat pumps come in various styles to match different home requirements, including ductless options with non-ducted indoor units like wall-mount air handlers, floor-mounted consoles, and in-ceiling cassettes. Compact-ducted systems are ideal for concealed-ceiling installations and can be used in mixed ducted/ductless setups.

Centrally ducted systems for whole-house heating and cooling use central air handlers or furnaces, available in single-stage and inverter-driven models. These systems provide a comprehensive solution for maintaining a comfortable indoor climate throughout the entire home.

Quality installation tips*

  1. Design the system ahead of time
  2. Adhere to industry standards and manufacturer guidelines during install
  3. Verify everything and leverage smart tools
  4. Document what you’ve done and educate the homeowner

OnTime Service Pros- Rosemount, MN

At On-Time Service Pros, we’re thrilled with the performance of our cold climate heat pumps, both ducted and ductless. Our two-year test program has yet to yield a dissatisfied customer, highlighting energy savings, whisper-quiet operation, fuel flexibility, and strong subzero performance. Rebates, incentives, tax credits, and special financing make them affordable. Over three years, we’ve re-educated homeowners who still link heat pumps to southern climates. As proof, my ductless heat pump kept my Minnesota garage at 58°F when it was -18°F outside! With top performance, efficiency, and affordability, these heat pumps are a no-brainer.
