The purpose of the Marketing Summits is to create a forum in which the host manufacturer or retailer can present its ENERGY STAR plans to only the Energy Efficiency Program Sponsors (EEPS). Each manufacturer or retailer session is scheduled to last 30 minutes.

Representatives from the ENERGY STAR program will provide a program update on ENERGY STAR qualified residential light fixtures and CFLs, along with discussing plans for the 2007 Change A Light, Change the World campaign.

MARKET TRANSFORMATION VS. RESOURCE ACQUISITION AND THE IMPACT ON LIGHTING PROGRAMS

The landscape of energy-efficiency programs is changing. Utilities are increasingly asked to use efficiency as a "fifth fuel" - that is, to use efficiency to meet electrical demand. In this session, an overview of this changing landscape will be provided. Additionally, program managers from three different regions that are working towards both resource acquisition and market transformation will discuss how these two paradigms affect the way their programs are funded, designed, ran and evaluated.

This session will offer hands-on materials and tools to help partners implement their ENERGY STAR qualified lighting programs. First, an overview of the ENERGY STAR Retail Training Center will be presented. Then, participants will have an opportunity to learn more about CFL technology, qualification and testing processes, and useful resources that are available to help expand your lighting knowledge.

CONCURRENT SESSION 2: LESSONS LEARNED AND SUCCESSES GAINED WITH NEW CONSTRUCTION AND ENERGY STAR QUALIFIED FIXTURES

Utilities and industry players are piloting new approaches to promoting ENERGY STAR qualified lighting programs in new construction and are experiencing success with existing programs. In this session, panelists will share ideas for working with builders and developers on new construction lighting, including industry workings, barriers success stories, and lessons learned.
