The American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association is a professional association serving those who design, build, maintain, and operate hospitals and other health care facilities. ASHE's Energy to Care program hosts treasure hunts patterned after ENERGY STAR's model. The 1-2 day event brings together health care professionals on a quest to discover low-cost energy savings opportunities at a hospital or clinical site. Since 2018, ASHE has hosted five treasure hunts with 160 health care professionals participating. The groups have identified an average of $900,000 in annual savings opportunities for each of the host hospitals.
