As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and EPA's ENERGY STAR program, Highwoods Properties is committed to reducing the consumption of valuable natural resources in all of our operations. We are focused on developing and operating more energy efficient buildings throughout our portfolio and, when warranted, applying for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and the ENERGY STAR. A few examples of recent energy-saving improvements include lighting upgrades (more energy efficient bulbs and ballasts), selective use of motion-detected lighting, and installing variable-speed HVAC drives.
Seven Springs I is the first office building in this planned mixed-use development. Three additional office buildings are planned with retail shops and restaurants throughout. The development is just off I-65 in Brentwood.
Sustainability features include an energy management system, energy sub-metering, green cleaning, high-efficiency HVAC drives, high-efficiency lighting, occupancy sensors, a recycling program, and water conservation fixtures.
