The Long Lake Crossings building is located in Troy, Michigan, 20 minutes north of Detroit. Long Lake Crossings was designed by world-renowned architect Minoru Yamasaki & Associates. Built in 1988, the building consists of 170,484 rentable square feet and the building exterior features finely detailed red and bronze glass with a three story portico at the front entrance.
The tenant occupancy averages 60 hours per week with 4% of the tenant population that have longer operations and averages 80 hours per week. Each suite is separately metered for electrical usage. The building is heated by two (2) Ajax hot water boilers with fin tube radiation and six (6) Trane roof top units provide the Variable Air Volume (VAV) cooling system that is pneumatically controlled. Four (4) of the Trane units have been upgraded with variable frequency drives (VFD) with the final two (2) scheduled for replacement in 2008. This has reduced energy consumption and increased efficiency.
Long Lake Crossings earned the ENERGY STAR label for 2005 & 2006 as a result of previous and ongoing energy savings practices which include the use of a Building Automation System (BAS) to control and monitor the HVAC and lighting, upgrading exit lighting to LED fixtures, occupancy sensors for lighting in all common area restrooms, VFD upgrades on air handlers, the use of energy efficient light bulbs and the use of "on demand" stations for after hours and Saturday HVAC needs.

The Metropolitan Detroit Building and Owners Association (BOMA) has awarded Long Lake Crossings the Building of the Year Award (TOBY) in 2003, 2004 && 2006.
