4300 Dacoma is a single-story commercial office building whose primary tenants are ExxonMobil Business Units and Mail Hub. The building, constructed in 1970, is owned by ExxonMobil and managed by ExxonMobil's Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) group. The building is one of four Class A buildings on ExxonMobil's 33-acre Brookhollow campus. 4300 Dacoma is constructed of steel-reinforced, poured-in-place concrete.


4300 Dacoma earned the ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance as a result of ExxonMobil's continuing commitment to energy efficiency in all its operations. Starting in 2005, the GREF management team pursued the efficiency gains that could be accomplished through improved operations and maintenance, and other low-cost practices. This included the retrofitting of the entire building with the latest technology in water-saving plumbing fixtures and appliances. Then in 2008, an extensive energy audit/benchmarking survey was undertaken for all GREF-managed facilities. Using the data from this survey, many energy conservation projects were initiated for 4300 Dacoma, such as HVAC retro-commissioning, lighting retrofits, EMS re-programming functions, and tenant involvement in office energy savings programs.


Continuing efforts in 2009 included exterior window sealing/joint sealing, lighting timers for exterior lighting, and proximity sensors for lighting in targeted areas. Energy consumption at 4300 Dacoma is monitored by a digital Energy Management System (EMS), enabling the building operations and management team to track and react to changes in energy consumption.
