Oak Hollow # 40
40 Oak Hollow
Southfield, MI 48034
40 Oak Hollow is a three story office building situated in a wooded campus setting in Southfield, Michigan. The 81,000 square foot building was constructed in 1987 and features a two-story atrium lobby creating an impressive entrance to a business address. Materials used to create a warm environment include granite and oak with brass elevator door accents. The parking that surrounds the building is easily accessed from both front and rear entrances.
Energy efficiency and comfort within the building is established by an extensive preventative maintenance program, an energy management system and a variable air volume (VAV) structure zoned for every 1,000 square feet. Energy saving accomplishments are achieved through continuous resourceful upgrades by means of controlling interior and exterior lights with a building automation system (BAS) and sensors; limiting the operation of the buildings heating and cooling equipment; upgrading new construction with LED exit signs, electronic ballasts and compact fluorescent bulbs; conducting infrared tests; installing water controlled auto-faucets; and implementing a recycling program for bulbs, ballasts and batteries.
Transwestern is proud of the success with energy savings and will continue to research and implement means with future upgrades in which to qualify for a sustained ENERGY STAR rating during the upcoming years.
