Developed and managed by Hines, Oak Brook Pointe is a 214,000-square-foot, five-story office building situated within walking distance of Oakbrook Center Mall, one of the most exclusive shopping centers not just in suburban Chicago, but in the entire United States. Designed by Wright Architects and completed in 1999, Oak Brook Pointe is clad in reflective blue glass and gray stone panels. In keeping with the exclusivity of its surroundings, Oak Brook Pointe was designed to offer eight corner offices per floor and includes an underground executive parking area. There is also a one-level above-ground parking structure and ample surface parking for guests and visitors. Tenant amenities include an upscale delicatessen and a full fitness center within the property.

Oak Brook Pointe earned the ENERGY STAR as the result of highly efficient design and active energy management practices. In the Chicago area's seasonally extreme climate, HVAC is a major driver of energy consumption. In Oak Brook Pointe, variable frequency drives are used on supply and return fans to allow them to operate at levels commensurate with actual demand. Similarly, the temperature at which cooled air is distributed through the building is set based on outdoor temperatures'helping to eliminate unnecessary energy expenditure during cooler weather. Property management reprogrammed the morning warm-up cycle for rooftop HVAC units, helping to make the process more efficient. Lighting is another source of savings, with unnecessary illumination reduced through the use of programmed light controls in building common areas, and light sensors in outside parking areas.
