410 17th Street submitted its Energy Star application in 2000. The energy score started at 79. The present score stands at 93.

The increase in our score over the years can be attributed to the commitment to reduce energy usage by Owners, Management, Operations and Capital Expenditures.

2000 - Chiller - retrofitted to 134a refrigerant and VFDs.

Cooling Towers - VFDs added. VFDs added to chill water pumps.

Main building lightning retrofitted from T12s to T8s.

Energy Management System installed.

2008 - Garage lighting retrofit from Mercury Vapors to T8s.

Installed New Domestic water pump station with VFDs.

2009 - Solar film added to south and west faces of the building.

Installed 2.4GPF kits in all water closets. Installed .5gpm aerators in RR lavatories.

2010 - VFDs added to Main supply and return fans.

2011 - Installed lighting photo sensors in all mechanical areas.

Lighting retrofit - Stairwells, basement and mechanical areas from T12s to T8s.

2012 - Retrofitted Water closets fixtures to 1.6 gpf, urinals to .125 gpf.

2013 - Installed a plate and frame heat exchanger. (Flat Plate Heat Exchanger)

2014 - Energy Management System was changed and upgraded to control and operate the mechanical systems in an efficient and economical matter.
