A Historic Landmark

Located in the city's fashionable Back Bay neighborhood, Jurys Boston Hotel is a historic architectural landmark. The structure was built in 1925 to house the Boston Police Headquarters, and remained home to the United States's oldest police force until 1997, when the Headquarters changed locations. At that time the Jurys Doyle Hotel Group secured a long term lease on the property and undertook a $60 million renovation project to give it a modern lift while maintaining its cultural and architectural heritage.

Officially opened July 2, 2004, the Jurys Boston features 225 guest rooms, three executive suites, and five Dedicated Boardrooms with over 3,200 sq. ft. of meeting space.

A True ENERGY STAR

In addition to its aesthetic magnificence, Jurys Boston Hotel is also a superior energy performer. In December of 2005, Jurys Doyle Hotel Group partnered with the US EPA's ENERGY STAR program, and in July 2006 received the ENERGY STAR label for their Boston property.

As part of their energy management initiative, Jurys Boston Hotel underwent a series of technological improvements that helped reduce its energy consumption/expenditures dramatically (see right panel). Of particular note were their lighting and laundry system upgrades, which will pay for themselves within three years, and help significantly reduce the hotel's environmental impact.

To communicate their successes internally, Jurys Boston Hotel has created an Energy Management Plan as well as an Energy Awareness Board within their Boston Facility and energy is reviewed at morning meetings and weekly leadership team meetings. Energy expenses are examined and critiqued by leadership at the end of each month.
