This is a historic building that dates back to 1913. It is an iconic building in Manatee County. It recently underwent a landscape and exterior update, as well as a LED lighting retrofit.
This was the first building that Manatee County benchmarked in Portfolio Manager. When it was first benchmarked in 2009, it received an ENERGY STAR score of 44. Today, it has become a top energy-efficient building in our portfolio.
It is a former Courthouse and is used as office space, employeeing clerks and financial services professionals. It is, on a daily basis, used by over one thousand people. It is primarily used to process the 12th Judicial Courts System.
It has been updated with all new insulated windows, new white reflective roof, new air handlers, fan cool units, and T-8 lamps. The building is on a cooling plant and that is measured in kbtu units. It also has a new efficient boiler that runs on natural gas. Everything except the elevators have been updated in the last 5 years in this building for efficiencies in energy and maintenance. This is a great example of taking an old inefficient building and making it a shining ENERGY STAR one.
