20 Greenway Plaza is a ten story, Class A office building located in Houston, Texas. The management team started monitoring energy performance using ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® beginning in 2011, and earned the ENERGY STAR in 2012 and 2015.
The base building tenant HVAC system at 20 Greenway consists of two 650-ton high efficiency centrifugal chillers installed in 2012. Tenant HVAC air distribution is provided by 47 air handling units equipped with energy efficient VFD controls. Heating is through the use of electric reheat coils located at the exterior zones in conjunction with an energy efficient low pressure boiler located in the central plant. Digital controls via a building automation system provide for energy-efficient control for 100 percent of the HVAC system.
