1920 NW Amberglen Pkwy is a Class A office located in Beaverton, Oregon. The two-story, L-shaped building combines classic and contemporary elements to create a business environment in which tenants enjoy solid quality and technical innovation. Located at the corner of AmberGlen Parkway and Walker Road, the building offers high visibility from Cornell Road and ease of access from Highway 26. AmberGlen Business Center is a 217-acre, master-planned business community located just 20 minutes from downtown Portland in the heart of the Sunset Corridor. This building was awarded an Energy Star label in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for its operating efficiency.

The building management team maintains a high level of energy efficiency at the facility, which has helped the building earn the ENERGY STAR. The single most important tactic the team pursued was to recommission the building’s HVAC system and controls, which alone cut electricity use by nearly half. The team regularly conducts night walks to identify operational issues and has trained security personnel to notify building engineering staff members if HVAC or lighting systems are operating during unoccupied hours. To better monitor building operating conditions, the team installed energy management software to provide 15 minute interval data. New controls on the exhaust fans further reduced energy use. In 2009, the team entered the Carbon4Square sustainability competition—sponsored by BOMA Portland and local utilities—to see how much more energy could be saved.  At the end of the competition, building management was pleased to take home the top prize.
