Map It!
Owned by Beacon Capital Partners and managed by Callahan Management, Wells Fargo Center is a 52-story, 1.2 million-square-foot office tower. The building's design, by Philip Johnson and John Burgee, evokes the elegance of the great Art Deco skyscrapers of the early 20th century. Wells Fargo Center amenities include a ground-level pedestrian promenade occupying a full block, with a 100-foot-high domed skylight rotunda on one side, and a 33-foot-high formal lobby on the other. In 2002/2003, Wells Fargo Center received the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) award for International Building of the Year. Wells Fargo Center was completed in 1983.
ENERGY STAR certification for Wells Fargo Center was accomplished through the retrofitting of building lighting to high-efficiency T8 bulbs with electronic ballasts, and through the installation of variable frequency drives (VFDs) on various components of Wells Fargo Center's air handling system allowing them to run at levels corresponding closely to the level of demand. The lighting retrofit alone saves an estimated two million kilowatt hours annually. More recent energy projects include a full elevator modernization and DDC chiller and floor controls.
