Darden Restaurants is the world's largest full-service restaurant company, owning and operating more than 1,900 Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, and Eddie V's restaurants. The company moved into its new headquarters campus in September 2009. The new campus, which is known as the Restaurant Support Center (RSC), was the largest LEED Gold office building in the Southeast at the time of its completion and provides a collaborative, welcoming, and energy- and water-efficient campus for all employees and guests.
Unique sustainability features at Darden Restaurants? new location include: native landscaping design; bioswale drainage design in all parking lots; structured parking; reclaimed water irrigation system; high-performance exterior glass; natural daylight harvesting system; high-efficiency chilled water HVAC; motion sensors; full-building automation; recycling program; use of recycled building materials; reclaimed water supply to all toilets; energy recovery units; and variable speed drives at all equipment. Recently, Darden added 1.1 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to the campus to offset more than 20 percent of its electrical demand each year.
