Since Trinity Lutheran Church was first built in 1949, it has gone through many changes in remodling, additions and extensive energy saving methods. The latest addition in 2012 was a 20,400 sqaure foot worship and office space. New air handler units, boiler, Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) pumps and Delta Direct Digital Controls (DDC) were all part of the new construction.
In November of 2014 we replaced the 6 open flame boilers that served the other 24,000 sq. ft. of the original building that had been in service since 1983.
After a heat loss, a heat load survey was preformed by a Certified Engineer; his recomomdations were to replace 3.1 million btu availability to 1.25 million btu availability. Two 625,000 btu high efficancy condensing boilers, along with VFD pumps now serve our original building's heating needs.
In 2011, the church changed over 550 T8 32 Watt light fixtures to 25 Watt light fixtures.
With a Focus on Energy incentive in March of 2016, we replaced all 4' flourecsent T8 bulbs to LED lighting.
In October of 2016, we replaced all (approximently 130) 13 & 23 watt CFL's to 9 & 13 watt LED stick lighting.
Delamping, LED exit lights, LED dusk to dawn out door lighting, programable thermostats, motion detectors and timers for certain areas, soda machine sensor, and employee/congregation participation, have all been a major part of our energy saving efforts.
