Residents of North Coastal San Diego County mandated the founding of Tri City Medical Center (TCMC) in 1957. TCMC is a modern, full-service hospital whose goal is to improve our patients' quality of life through health education, disease prevention, and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. Every eight to 10 years, we add a new wing to the existing structure. Today, TCMC consists of 12 modern surgery suites.
Our engineering department sets our annual energy conservation goals, establishes energy standards for construction projects, and creates hospital-wide energy conservation plans. The department also constantly evaluates our operational energy methods and uses new technology, where appropriate, to ensure effective energy performance throughout our hospital. Energy performance projects have been conducted in the following areas:
Communications:
We educate our employees of our energy efficiency efforts through our monthly "Life in the City" news and by announcements at employee forums. We also plan to notify the media of our energy efficiency successes via our Marketing and Community Services Department.
