Andrews Middle School is in the Cherokee, NC County School District. The school's lighting infrastructure was upgraded using the federal stimulus grant managed by the North Carolina Department of Energy. All T-12 lights were removed and replaced by T-8 or T-5 fixtures. In addition, the mercury-halogen gym lights were replced with T-5 instant on/off fixtures. Future plans include converting this facility to a 100% LED facility when funds become available.
